U of L Football (hire me?) and other Kentucky news

Dang…The Cards are going to the Orange Bowl…and I have no money to go. How many folks are thinking the same thing. Yeah…but I do parades and face painting. I’ve even been known to draw a few football pics. Can you imagine how much money I could make painting Cardinals on the faces in the parking lot for Tailgaters…uh-huh. A late thought. Too late to make the bucks. Darn! So I move along, wish the Uof L Football Team Best Wishes….good luck and go get ‘em!

I was talking with a stranger the other day while eating a satisfying lunch at Fat Jimmy’s washed down with a BBC Nut Ale with the last of my money at that moment. I have since made some more doing that clowning gig that I do so well. Face painting. It keeps things alive.

Anyway, I got caught up talking with this young gentleman about the Holiday Season, and gift buying (he was fairly close friends with fellow employees where I was dining) versus  gift making and dough art as a means of gifting. Then on to theatre, creative writing, this dull blog,  the play The Gift of the Magi…and I can’t even remember who wrote it. I think it was O’Henry… and the underlying themes in the play…such as the need for communication between people that really cared for each other. Oh we went on for a couple of hours and it was really nice to have that break in the middle of my hellish and somewhat monotonous existence.

What more can I say. I am a dull and boring old fart that dresses up like a clown to make a few bucks. One more thing people have been known to do to keep a buck in their pocket. I actually had some fool try to kiss (kiss a clown?!!!) me back in October at the St James Court Art Show. In costume. But then I was the fool that stuck around talking to him. Live and learn.

 Be good. Have a great Holiday Season…oh, yeh…so when you have a free evening here’s a suggestion…

The homeless need blankets, thermos’ with hot soup and beverages, and dry clean socks, warm winter boots, coats and gloves in case you care to help people in your city. All you need to do is call a local shelter and they’ll give you some numbers where you can volunteer fro a night.

Imagine a place where no one is hungry. No one is freezing.  Everyone is healthy…maybe that’s all I am trying to do with the things that I write.

I’ve drawn about ten pictures, created a few more characters, illustrated these…and have no damned way of posting these. Oh, well. Probably for the best.

And again! Good luck to U of L at the Orange Bowl! Hoohah! Long time coming….go Cards! (and yeah..good luck to Kentucky Cats too!)

Yo Kristine, sent you an email last night… also read this post… at least your keeping your “blogging” in hand a bit… you write well. TC4N as all-ways. ;-)

Thanks for the kind words. I cough at the words “write well”. My skills are equivalent to most articulate or studious eigth graders. How depressing!
